Every day we see people enjoying the trails with their four legged friends! Bike/Hike/Ski up to the Montane Hut with your dog, family and friends for an afternoon together on Saturday, Feb. 29th.

The first 50 dogs get a FREE dog bandana to wear!

They will have hot chocolate, hotdogs and cookies to eat - all donations going to the Fernie Railyard Dog Park fence project!

Event is open to all. Please bring your leash for your dog at the hut and ensure they are under control at all times.

The Fernie Nordic Society is holding its 8th Annual Community Fun Race day on Saturday, February 22. All skiers are invited to participate, club members and non-members alike. The overall theme will be FUN and CHEERS for all.

There will be hot food available by donation – bring a bowl and a mug to help us go green(er).

The event will consist of three types of competitions:
Hot Chocolate Run – Adult-Child duo Course length: 1 km for child and 3 km for adult PLANNED START at 10:45

To prevent avalanche accidents and help people make good decisions in avalanche terrain, Avalanche Canada and avalanche professionals in over 30 Canadian communities share their expertise to help people keep safe in the mountains during Avalanche Awareness.

Here in Fernie we have a full day of interactive and educational activities in the plaza and on mountain! The day culminates with a fundraising auction up in the Griz Bar with proceeds going towards Avalanche Canada to support their public education programs.

Participants will learn how to build a quinzhee, aka Canadian snow shelter, fire building techniques in snow, along with fun games and tasty treats.
