Fernie's Teen Top Chef Challenge

Sharpen those knives, ready the pans, and fire up the stove… It’s the Fernie’s Teen Top Chef Challenge!

April 17-May 8th
Week 1: Appies and Starters (April 17-April 24th)
Week 2: The Main Course (April 24th-May 1)
Week 3: Sweet Endings: Desserts (May 1-May 8)

Get ready to put your Culinary Skills to the test!

To Play:
1) Take 3 pictures or a short video segment of you preparing the dish. Have a family member help!
2) Now It’s time to get styling! Take 3 lovely photos of your creation.
3) Submit a short video of you or a family member enjoying your creation. The more enthusiasm the better! Think “ooohs and ahhhs, lip smacking and finger licking! You can also submit a short food write up.

Each week one of our local celebrity judges will choose a winning dish! Winners will be announced on the following Sunday.

To Win the Prizes:

1st Prize: $75 Gift Card
2nd Prize $50 Gift Card
3rd Prize: $25 Gift Card

You must submit an entry for each category 1) An Appetizer or Starter 2) A Main Dish 3) A Dessert to be eligible to win the gift card prizes.

Submissions will be judged on:

Presentation (up 10 10 points)
Challenge level of the receipt chosen (up to 10 points)
Enthusiasm of the review (up to 10 points)

For a Total out of 30.

The Grand Champion:1st Place: The Person with the Most Overall points wins the title of Fernie’s Teen Top Chef plus a $75 gift Card to a Fernie Restaurant of their choice! Yum!

2nd Place: The teen who finishes 2nd over all will win a $50 gift card to a Fernie restaurant of their choice.

3rd Place: The teen who finishes 3rd overall will win a $25 gift card to a Fernie restaurant of their choice.

Rules and Stuff:

You must be between the ages of 12-18 and live in Fernie to participate
Parents can “help” with food prep and uploading pictures and videos (help means "help", not "do")
All dishes must be submitted by 11:59 pm on the closing date of the week, so Appy’s will need to be in by Friday, April 24th, Main Dishes by Friday May 1st and Desserts by Friday May 8th)
You can enter as many dishes as you like. We will take the points from your submission with the highest total.
Winners will be announced on May 10th.
