Dive into our curated collection of Fernie videos and experience the vibrant heart of our mountain community. From energetic live performances showcasing local talent to breathtaking footage of deep-powder catskiing at Island Lake Lodge and fly fishing on the Elk River, these videos capture the individuals, events, and outdoor adventures that define Fernie, BC.

This video features a live musical performance of the song "The Bear" by the Canadian indie-folk band Shred Kelly. Recorded live at The Northern, the video showcases the band's energetic "stoke-folk" style on stage, capturing a dynamic performance that builds up powerfully during the song's bridge.

Video produced by Alex Hanson, Hipgnosis Media and uses footage from Nell's previous music videos and additional footage including live performances courtesy of The Flaming Lips.

Supported by Creative BC and the Province of British Columbia Billions of People was written by Nell in collaboration with Shred Kelly and Penelope Isles.

This video uses footage of Nell shot in Fernie BC on August 16 2022. It was a beautiful day and we shot in town, by the river and on the top of the mountains. Nell was in great spirits, enjoying herself and it shows in this footage. We wish we could do it all again...

Featuring the best live music, craft beverages, and a mouth-watering Vendor Village.

Kings & Queens started with a dirty guitar riff and a blues shuffle drum beat. When our vocalist, Adam Laurin heard it, it reminded him of the excitement of a race car event, like NASCAR. Tail gating, excess speeds, and oil temperatures at 1000 degrees... "Kings & Queens arrive" with their eyes on the checkered flag. The riff uses a "octave fuzz" effect first popularized by Jimi Hendrix's solo in Purple Haze. In Kings & Queens, our guitarist, Will Ripley used it for a grungy heavy effect on the power chords, making the tones grind like an powerful engine.

Shred Kelly performs Another Place at The Northern in December 2024.

A trip to Island Lake Lodge is an annual tradition for The Ski Journal team, and this year’s pilgrimage up north was a special one. There’s a rich history of ski media woven into the backstory of Island Lake Lodge thanks to the likes of Greg Stump, Scot Schmidt, and Mark Gallup, and it doesn’t take long to understand why. With 7,000 acres of terrain in the valley (5,000 of those are private land), an endless supply of rolling tree skiing and vast alpine bowls means that there’s likely a fresh pocket of snow no matter what Mother Nature hurls our way.

This Underexposed is dedicated to the memory of Abi Moore, to her family, and to everyone building their legacies through trails, community, and inclusivity.

Island Lake Lodge was excited to work with SheJumps on this project that goes deeper into what it means to play and experience nature. SheJumps believes that nature is where we go to become who we are meant to be.
