This 4-class workshop is designed to teach up-and-coming Filmmakers ages 11-15 the basic steps to create a short film. Each student will direct, shoot, and edit a short 1-3 minute film that will be entered into Little ReelsShowcase. Little Reels films will premiere on the big screen at the Reel Film Fest in January 2022.

The instructor will take the class through the 3 major portions of film-making: Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production both in theory and in practice. Students will enjoy the hands-on, interactive learning style that will have them shooting footage on day one. The students will be using smartphones for both image capture and editing, rather than complicated professional equipment. The focus of this workshop is to learn the importance of film concepts, visual storytelling, cinematography, editing, and music. By the end of the course, the students will be able to tell better visual stories regardless of technology.

Each student will need an iphone/smartphone/ipad/ipod with the Splice App installed. If you do not have access to a device please contact for assistance.

$150 subsidies are available. If you require any assistance in financing this workshop, please contact info@theartsstation.com
