Ceremony and Reconciliation Walk

On Canada Day, the City of Fernie will welcome members of the Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi ‘it (Tobacco Plains) to gather at City Hall in prayer and ceremony. All community members are encouraged to show support for the Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡI ‘ by being socially distanced along the route as they walk through town.

The ceremony will take place at 10am, with the walk to follow immediately after.

Orange T-shirts will be for sale by the Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi ‘it after the parade at City Hall grounds.
