Travel Movie Screening & Presentation: Welcome to the Moon!

Nomad filmmaker Haru from South Korea is bringing her music-documentary film to Fernie! In the movie, we follow a multinational street band Mombé on their musical adventure in Europe. It’s hard not to become happy listening to the playful rhythms that permeate the whole documentary.
However, the film goes deeper than that. Both Haru and the musicians are nomads, always on the road. What does that mean for one’s life? Why would someone want to live like that? How is it to be free from most obligations? Do we all have to live the way the norms of society dictate? Birth, education, job, retirement, the end?(written by Ida)
After the screening, there will be more time to think and talk about it together through Haru’s presentation about the last 4 years of her life on the road. You can ask any question about her movie or travel, get a lot of tips and ideas!
