Chautauqua Afternoon Tea at Fernie Seniors' Center

For over a century, Fernie has had a significant British community, and formal afternoon tea was a tradition among those who immigrated to Fernie from England, Scotland and Wales. 

Join the Hearts' Content Ensemble as we revive this delightful tradition with the Chautauqua Afternoon Tea. 

Our menu includes our own Fernie Blend tea by Murchies Tea of Victoria; scones with jam, marmalade and Devonshire cream; Coronation chicken, smoked salmon with cream cheese, and cucumber with cress finger sandwiches; and dainties. 

Tickets are $15 per person and will be available beginning July 1 at the Fernie Museum and the Fernie Seniors Centre.

Leading up to the Chautauqua Afternoon Tea will be a fascinator making workshop. Afternoon Tea dress is highly encouraged for the event.
