Fernie has a wealth of talented Artists. Explore the local galleries, studios and Art on the Lawn to connect with the artists and see their work. Hosted by the Fernie Arts Station.

1. The Fernie Arts Station
601 1st Avenue
The hub of Fernie’s cultural scene with a gallery, 100 seat theatre, art and pottery studio and the Blue Toque diner. Art demonstrations throughout the day.
2. Polar Peek Books and Treasures
592 2nd Avenue
A locally owned and operated book store that features original Art work. The shop features a variety of media that portrays the region and lifestyle of the Elk Valley. Artists include Tara Higgins, Angela Morgan and Anne Anderson. Laura Nelsons Artwork will be painting on site.
3. Fernie Arts Coop
572 2nd Avenue
A volunteer organization that provides a venue for East Kootenay Artists to display and sell their work. The shop store features a variety of media that portray the region and lifestyle of the Elk Valley.
4. Leanne Stothert. Studio 562, Fernie BC
562 2nd Avenue
This is a working studio for Leanne Stothert where visitors can connect with her while she paints. This year she has welcomed several other artists of different mediums to display their work including Sarah Pike, Kim Kennedy, Alain Stahl and Sarah Moffat.
5. Brian Pollock Studio
530 2nd Avenue
The works of this talented photographer features the landscapes of the Elk Valley region.
6. Stephanie's Glass & Art Studio
Studio 532 2nd Avenue
Stephanie has over 40 years of experience in creating a variety of glass pieces such as stained glass and sandblasted glass. Also featured in the gallery are abstract works by Vanessa Croome and watercolours by Edwin Wiebe.
7. Eye Of The Needle
260 5th Street
This historic artisan gallery features the work of Sandra Barrett, a felter and Dave Barrett of Fernie forge alongside Katherine Russell and Robin Wilste. Demonstrations throughout the day.
8. Clawhammer Press
661 2nd Avenue
Clawhammer Press is one of few commercial letterpress shops in Western Canada with a variety of original printed works for sale. The studio also includes a retail gallery space showcasing the paintings of Mike Hepher.
9. Angela Morgan Studio
661 2nd Avenue
A working studio for the talented artist Angela Morgan who is represented in galleries across Canada and Europe. She is known for her figurative paintings with use of colour, pattern and line.
10. Kyle Hamilton Photography
341C 3rd Avenue
Tour Kyle’s working studio featuring various works including landscapes and part of the I am Fernie exhibit which was part of Canada 150. Be sure to get your portrait taken to be included in this ongoing project.
11. Art on the Lawn
501 3rd Avenue
Located on City hall lawn this artisan fair and plein air gives you the chance to meet more of the local artists who do not have open studios. They will be there selling their work and giving demonstrations.
