Calling writers, bloggers, songwriters, journalers, editors, poets, playwrights and all creative-writing enthusiasts!

As part of our adult programming, the Fernie Heritage Library is starting a once a month writing group. A monthly theme will given in advance as well as an opportunity to share what you have written. This writers' group is an opportunity to get your creativity flowing, to build your circle of local wordy friends and to enjoy sharing in a community of home-grown talent.
Drop-in, all are welcome.

In her latest book, Abdou combines revealing personal stories with careful research on issues such as cost, gender bias, concussions, and family pressures to offer a thoughtful look at the struggles, joys, and strains of having a child in amateur hockey.

When Benji Schmitt swam over to me at the Fernie Aquatic Center and asked if he could write with me, I was flattered. He is a keen and wonderful young man. All of eight years of age, he is filled to the brim with whimsy and curiosity. I obliged his earnest request and together we created a piece that examined our full potential. Thank you for swimming over to me that day! Enjoy.
