Have you been wanting to try your hand at the potter’s wheel? Are looking to hone your skills?

With a max of 5 students, this two day class provides you with ample opportunity to practice your throwing skills. Ideal for beginners or those with some experience, we will go through the basics of throwing basic vessels and trimming pottery while trouble shooting any individual challenges that may arise. Clay purchase is required for non-guild members while members may use their own.

Fernie will play host to the first ever Elk Valley Snow Avalanche Workshop on November 10, 2018. The event welcomes avalanche professionals and recreationalists in a day of collective discussion and engaging presentations on a variety of winter backcountry topics. Vendors and operators will also be on hand demonstrating the latest in equipment and services to public.

Calling writers, bloggers, songwriters, journalers, editors, poets, playwrights and all creative-writing enthusiasts!

As part of our adult programming, the Fernie Heritage Library is starting a once a month writing group. A monthly theme will given in advance as well as an opportunity to share what you have written. This writers' group is an opportunity to get your creativity flowing, to build your circle of local wordy friends and to enjoy sharing in a community of home-grown talent. 
Drop-in, all are welcome.

Join clinical herbalist, Lauren Street, for an evening of learning and creating.

Materia Medica: learn the actions and uses of a number of plants commonly used in herbal medicine to treat a wide range of health concerns, including colds and flus, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, depression, indigestion, allergies, and much more!

Blending: take what you learn and put it to use! Formulate and blend three of your own customized herbal teas to take home and enjoy!
