A highlight of Fernie’s winter Griz Festival!   Strictly for fun, this competition features imaginative & hilarious “dummies” on skis launching themselves off a gigantic jump beside the Timber Chair.  Dummies can be made from a variety of materials and creativity is stressed!  Dummies are judged based on their construction, creativity, distance they fly off the jump and the carnage factor when they land!

Fernie’s contingent of families has been on the rise in recent years, and with it has come an amazing array of programming and events specific to kids and families. This provides a great resource not just for those residing here, but those visiting.

Fernie, BC is rapidly becoming one of British Columbia’s ultimate sledding destinations. Legendary snowfall, five distinct riding zones, staging areas just minutes from your door with local amenities and attractions for every type of rider – wide open adventure awaits!

Some call it snowmobiling, but Shantelle calls it sledding. Imagine hanging onto someone’s back, ripping along at high speeds, occasionally in the dark. What on earth was the appeal and what helped change her mind about it.
