- Information resources and how to use them

Local legends tell the myth of a long lost man, shoulders 6 feet wide, who lives among the wildlife deep in the mountains above Fernie, BC. As the story goes, a shot from his 8-foot musket brings blankets of powder to the valley. Locals know him only as “The Griz”. Dylan Siggers among the other townsfolk has made a life of this tradition, finding purpose in the abundance of snow brought by this mythical man.

Want to improve your fatbiking? Whether you’re a beginner who wants to try fatbiking for the first time, or an experienced fatbiker hoping to hone your skills, seasoned fatbike coaches Jena and Dylan are here to help!

Saturday March 16 - Beginner Fat Bike Skills Clinic - for anyone who wants to try fatbiking for the first time, or who has only gone fatbiking once or twice before. The Saturday clinic runs from 10am - 1pm (meet at 9:45am).

Fernie’s second Birkie is an approximately 50 km classic event (not including the chairlift ride!); it's unsupported and happens March 10th.

Bring your registration fee of $20 per person on the morning of the event or pay with credit card or by e-transfer during registration. Bring your classic skis as there is NO skating in this event.

This free family-friendly activity takes place all over the resort. Pick-up your list of clues at the Slopeside Café between 9am-11am and then the hunt is on! Follow the instructions to find the clues that are placed on-mountain and in the base area. Once you find the clue, take a selfie and post on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #lovefernie.

Join us back at Slopeside Café between 2pm – 4pm for prizes!
