Generous residents and visitors of the Elk Valley donated over $3,500 in December to provide local food to community members in need. Wildsight Elk Valley’s “Feed the Need” fundraiser is now nearing its $5,000 goal, which would provide Local Store gift cards to 50 low-income households in the Elk Valley in 2024, enabling low-income families and individuals to purchase fresh, local food from the Local Store.

In direct response to input from community members, Wildsight Elk Valley’s social enterprise Local is excited to announce extended opening hours. After a recent survey which drew participation from over 90 local residents, they are pleased to adjust Local’s schedule with the aim to make fresh locally-produced food available to more members of the Elk Valley community this Harvest season.
