The Collections Committee of the FDHS has been carefully assessing all items being held in storage, and has identified a number of pieces which have been in long term storage that are surplus to the Museum's needs or are duplicates of items already in the collection.

This repatriation-by-donation is a way of returning these items back into the care of the community and the intended purpose: the continued support of the museum, the museum collection, and the Fernie and District Historical Society, continues to be met.

Taking place on the 13th of December at 9pm, the Vogue Theatre will be presenting a special holiday screening of DIE HARD.

Tickets are $10 dollars at the door and there will be a concession full of tasty beverages and snacks! A portion of the proceeds will go to Angel Flight, a fully volunteer run organization that provides free air transportation to people in the East Kootenays that have medical appointments in Kelowna.

Fernie is such an attractive location for families for a variety of reason, but above all else because of the opportunities and amenities available for this younger cohort (and also those young at heart). As the number of families continues to grow, so does the programming, facilities and events.
