summer

Every year, I come up with different trails and loops to recommend to locals and visitors. You would think coming up with something new might be difficult, but it’s actually quite the opposite! We are so blessed in this Valley.

Fernie really does have it all when it comes to summer adventures with your kids. Here are three (or four) of my personal favourites that are a little off the beaten track.

The Arts Station's Wednesday Concerts Series are set to return this summer and the Christ Church Anglican hosts a a veteran touring duo, for a fundraising music concert.

Sun-soaked harmonies and gentle guitar medleys heralded the start of a long-awaited summer, while the weather, although not exactly summery, stayed dry.

Fernie is a beautiful place to live. Many places have a great view, but perhaps nowhere are the surroundings more magical than around Island Lake Lodge.

It’s hard to imagine improving upon a barbecue on a hot summer night, but consider the following libations for your next barbecue.

To no surprise, from June through September I never take a lot of time to slow down, another new hike or trail beckoning me, another Wapiti Music Festival echoing off Fernie Mountain through town, pulling me in with its ever-epic lineup. Until recently, when I discovered an adventurous activity that forces me to relax—paddle boarding.

My bucket list is made of mountains. Mountains I've yet to climb but hope to, ones with deep-blue lakes and jagged ridges, where the summit leaves you feeling infinite.

Fernie Golf Club has been an iconic amenity in the region for both residents and visitors since 1918 – marking 100 years this summer.

Summer in Fernie is FULL ON. Whether you are a hiker or paddler, are biking the gnarly terrain or sitting at a desk, we all face the requirement of taking care of our body in order to maintain it for the coming adventure.
