So, what is the Lone Wolf? A simple, fun, looped race. But there’s a catch. Racers start together on the hour as a pack, needing to finish the loop within the hour. As when the next hour strikes, the race starts again, in the opposite direction. The goal? To complete as many loops as you can.

I was having some difficulty thinking of who to feature in the Kickstart Issue, and Vanessa immediately said ‘Abi!’ - someone I never thought of because to be honest I typically shy away from featuring my friends. But, yes! Abi Moore knows how to get things started better than anyone I know, and since she’s off in Scotland for the winter with her parents, we planned an afternoon (evening) zoom with a coffee (beer) in hand!

2nd Annual "Dash in the Dark" Run Club

Back by popular demand, (actually no one has mentioned it but I love dress up), the 2nd Annual "Dash in the Dark" Run Club!

Basically weekly Run Club, but with dress up being far more important than Strava records, or in fact mileage. Wear your best costume plus headlamp, for a hilarious trot around the trails. Bring payment for a compulsory beer afterwards!

Meet at the Dirt Jump Parking lot for a 6.30PM start. Prizes for best (worst) dressed...

As seasons change, we propose a fun Stag Leap Run Club adventure. Basically hit a few trails, drop into a few drinking establishments along the way. Good chance to catch up, reminisce over summer, chat 2019 race season, long for a winter running vacation to Arizona....etc. etc. Do as much or as little as you wish, but in short it’s running + beer = yay!

2pm: Start from Chamber of Commerce for a Far Side loop, finishing at Fernie Brewing Co.

4pm: Leave Fernie Brewing Co. up Burma Road, for a Phat Bastard, Red Sonja loop, onto The Bridge Bistro.

Dash in the Dark at Stag Leap Running Co.

Meet at the old Fas (No) Gas for a fun (beside the Aquatic Centre) for a 10km loop in Montane. Dress up, head lamps and post-run beers required. A fun loop, with a few surprises along the way. Plus prizes for best dressed, so crack open that tickle trunk!
