On Sunday, January 14, 2018  Fernie Alpine Resort will say ‘Thank You’ to local communities by offering a FREE day of skiing and riding to the residents of Fernie, Elko, Elkford, Jaffray, Sparwood and all residents living in the Elk Valley, as part of the annual Community Appreciation Day.

A fundraising BBQ will be held with all proceeds going towards the Fernie Food Bank.

Pretty standard, year after year although we have seen an increase in interest in nordic skiing and snowshoeing!

Christmas Camp (Ages 6 -12)
For all ability levels of skiers and riders. Join us for a fun-filled week on the snow, with top quality lessons from our expert instructors. Focusing on skill development and guided discovery through fun activities on the mountain, our coaches will look for ways to challenge and improve on their existing skills. and encourage kids to take their abilities to the next level.

Calling all little rippers! The First Chance Rail Jam will have small-medium features for kids 15 and under to tackle on December 28th! The event is open to both skiers and snowboarders.

Registration at Slopeside Cafe starting at 5 pm. Rail Jam will take place from 6 - 7:30 pm near the Mighty Moose. $5 cash entry fee.

Do your fanciest snow dance and don’t forget to sacrifice to the Griz or Ullar! This event is geared towards adults or a team with a strong young skier and an adult. Meet at the Elk Valley Nordic Centre for 19:00 hours.

Pre-registration will be available so don’t forget to check your email or their Facebook page for more details. Headlamps will be needed and course and format will be announced prior to the ski.
