A cemetery is the surest place to find peace. St. Margaret's Cemetery in Fernie is one such cemetery. Old stones mix with old trees, standing quietly together just above town, touched only by the passing breeze.
 

November, it’s the time of season to remain calm before the storm. A great trail late Fall that typically drains well is Swine Flu.

Snowboarders, this one’s for you! Get back to your snowboarding roots with the Dirty Dancer Banked Slalom, a throwback to the ’80s where boarders were the outlaws of the wild west, banned from most ski resorts and forced to fight for the right to shred! Well, times have changed and we want you to celebrate by entering this awesome event for all ages.

Sometimes all Jesse wants is to hike alone. Alone enough to feel the thud of her boots against the earth. To have your face tickled by the breeze as it blows between yellowing larch needles. 

Fly fishing. Singular men, clad in shades of beige, stalking the riverbank. Suspenders and funny hats and deeply-lined foreheads from summers spent with the identical look of concentration on their faces.

Time: Approx. 1.5 – 2.5 hours
Difficulty: Intermediate - Advanced

Knowledge of the climbing lingo as well as understanding common mistakes and how to avoid making them can lead to a life of climbing without ever having to make a rescue call.

Fernie is a beautiful place to live. Many places have a great view, but perhaps nowhere are the surroundings more magical than around Island Lake Lodge.

Sometimes you don't know what you need inside your soul. That is, until you're yelling out lyrics to Robyn's Show Me Love circa 1997 while wine-drunk, and on your way to a pool overlooking a vineyard.

Imagine staring at the stars and seeing a meteor shower in a beautiful, dark, mountain top setting! Join us for this unique and amazing Perseid Meteor Shower viewing & mountain top camping experience.

Your experience starts at 4pm at the base of the Timber Chair, check in, load your gear and then it’s up the chairlift to your camping area in the alpine to set up your camp site for the evening (hosts are available to assist).
