Take a hike in the Mt. Fernie Provincial Park and use your senses to forage in the forest for food, medicinal plants, and inspiration for technology. This tour is either led by naturalist Lee-Anne Walker or Mary Cosman. Please meet at the Wildsight Elk Valley office at 891 2nd Avenue. Arrive 15 minutes early please and wear appropriate footwear and clothing. We recommend that you bring water, a snack, and a camera and writing pad.

Better late than never! Come celebrate Earth Day with some special after school programming, drop in , ages 7+. You will be making our own up-cycled t-shirt bags (to keep or give to the Zero Plastic Project) as well as special guest with Wildsight Elk Valley will be showing us about the "pea planning project".

It doesn't matter if it's in the summer or winter, we're always looking for always looking to relax and recharge. Hot springs whether natural or real provide both, and sometimes a little adventure too.

Imagine staring at the stars and seeing a meteor shower in a beautiful, dark, mountain top setting! Join us for this unique and amazing Perseid Meteor Shower viewing & mountain top camping experience.

Your experience starts at 4pm at the base of the Timber Chair, check in, load your gear and then it’s up the chairlift to your camping area in the alpine to set up your camp site for the evening (hosts are available to assist).

The solutions are at our fingertips. Say no to straws. Tote a reusable water bottle around with you and fill it up from the tap.

Jesse loves her column. It leads to great things. But this morning, a week past deadline in mid-December, she realizes she has nothing to write about. No neighbourly wine-making, no backcountry exploration – nothing.
