Learn how to use bear spray this Thursday at the Fernie Bike Park Gazebo with Kathy Murray!

Are you planning on heading out on the trails? Do you have bear spray accessible and how confident are you if you need to use it? WildSafeBC will be running a “how to safely use bear spray” session, free of charge. This is a great opportunity to come and get hands on practice with inert bear spray (bear spray without the pepper).

Back for Summer 2018...join Fernie Alpine Resort for this casual and fun downhill mountain bike race with a format modeled after our popular Thursday Night Race!

The race will take place at the end of the day at 4:30pm. Entry for the race is $5 and includes a post race beverage at Legends Mountain Eatery. Interested racers can register at the Adventure Centre in the main plaza on race day by 3:30pm and must meet at the top of the course before 4:30pm. Race course will be revealed closer to race day and will involve trail(s) on the mid to lower part of the Timber Side bike trails.

The Fernie Little Ripper Trail Passport is a series of skill/age appropriate mountain bike challenges. The goal is to ride the trail, find the checkpoint sign, and record the animal found on the sign in this booklet. Complete four challenges during the mountain bike season and receive a Fernie Little Ripper badge at one of Fernie’s local bike shops. If you are in for a big challenge try and complete all of the rides.
