A rainbow celebration in the mountains! Once again, Fernie’s most fabulous Drag Queens and Kings hit the slopes to shine a rhinestoned spotlight on suicide in the Elk Valley. Last year, with the support of the Fernie Alpine Resort and Fernie PRIDE, our Drag Stars raised over $10,000 for the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force to create a Grief Support for friends and families dealing in the wake of suicide.
As of August 25th, this event will go ahead with modifications. Attendance is capped at a maximum of 100 people present at any given time in line with new provincial health orders. Organisers will manage attendance. Please follow instructions and signage to help keep everyone safe and ensure that this event can go ahead.
The Fernie Pride Society is seeking input from workers and residents in the Elk Valley as part of their efforts to build diversity and inclusion; particularly for those who identify as LGBTQ2+ or who may be questioning their sexual orientation and gender identity. Input is being collected through a confidential online survey open to everyone, including allies such as employers, family members, friends, coworkers, educators, and healthcare professionals.
Support Isabella Gia and 6 other local drag queens along with members of the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force as they ski and ride as many laps as they can on the Mighty Moose.
Raising awareness and funds for the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force.
