KAST

Kootenay Association for Science & Technology (KAST) is providing programming to local tech entrepreneurs and businesses in the Kootenay by partnering with Spring Activator and Volition to run an Investment Readiness Training program from March through May of this year. Impact investing emphasizes a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside a financial return.

One year into the pandemic and the Kootenay Association for Science and Technology (KAST) has helped hundreds of businesses in the Kootenays impacted by COVID-19 get help with digital transformation.

Partnering with the BC Tech Association was the first step in providing crucial 1:1 support free of charge to non-tech businesses in the Kootenays. The first Virtual Connection Day took place in May 2020 and due to high interest, KAST offered four more in July, September, October and January 2021.

The competition is made up of three pitch events and a grand finale pitch event. The first pitch event will take place on November 5, 2020 with applications due on September 24, 2020. Each pitch event will see four entrepreneurs pitching their businesses in front of a panel of judges that includes investors, technology experts, funding agencies and experienced entrepreneurs who have global connections to both markets and investment capital.
