Quick and to the point – summer workouts truly allow you to be fit to play and do whatever you want, whenever you can. It also helps you to feel good, which is another by product of “good-sore” weekday muscles that help you stand straighter and re-balance the body for the coming weekend adventure.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I decided to offer some tips on sprucing up your relationship in the gym. Partner training can be a great tool to improve your motivation and adherence to a fitness program by making your workouts more fun and competitive. When looking for a good partner to train with, consider your schedules, motivation, training styles and goal compatibility. Set yourselves some partner goals (number of work outs in a month, cardio hours/week, weight loss etc) along with a reward system for each goal achieved to add to your enjoyment.

Injuries can be detrimental to your chosen activities, so it is always a good idea to check yourself. These basic motions provide a good starting point, and should all be easy and pain free.

Should you experience discomfort during any of the exercises, you can work on and improve your range of motion by repeating the movement five to ten times within the pain-free range. Findings of pain may also be a good indicator that you should be making an appointment with someone who can help.
