It is year three of the annual gathering of Gillbillies! 

Gillbilly is two full days of music and fun hosted by the The Old Type Music Society. A perfect mix of old-time music, jamming, food, good times and plenty of free time for fishing on the Elk River. Not into fishing? bring your bike, hike or do some busking downtown in beautiful Fernie, BC. More information about the schedule and format here.

The International Fly Fishing Film Festival® consists of short and feature length films produced by professional filmmakers from all corners of the globe, showcasing the passion, lifestyle and culture of fly-fishing. The films at this popular event are capturing the attention of anglers around the world. IF4™ contains exclusive content and is a must see experience.

Doors open at 6:00pm. Film begins at 7:00pm. Tickets are $15 and can also be purchased at Elk River Guiding Co, The Vogue Theatre and, If available, at the door on the day of the event.

Check out all the wonderful things that are happening in January – from film fests to Freeski, and Nordic races to nightlife, there’s no end of entertainment to enjoy!

This documentary lets us to relive the challenges of the men behind the Expo and the logistical and political challenges that were faced by organizers during the "Révolution Tranquille" in the Québec sixties.

Friday at the Reel Canadian Film Fest kicks off with Adventures in Public School followed by a Q&A with the lead actress, Siobhan Williams and costume designer Flo Barrett.
