Fernie Mountain Bike Club

When you think of culture things like art, heritage and music might come to mind. In Fernie biking is actually also a huge part of our culture.

On May 27, 2019 the Fernie Trails Alliance (FTA) announced that a re-route is in the works for one of Fernie's popular trails, Swine Flu.

Back by popular demand, the Second Annual Fernie Junior Ripper Trail Passport is a series of skill/age appropriate mountain bike challenges. The goal is to ride the trail, find the checkpoint sign, and record the animal found on the sign on this worksheet.

As the Fernie Trails Alliance launches its new Fernie Trails Pass and website this spring, they wants trail users, visitors and residents alike, to understand what they do, the member clubs they represent, and how alongside land owners, they work together to ensure Fernie's trail network is the best it can be now and for the forseeable future. Here is short and fun video by Aere Films featuring FTA Chair Krista Turcasso trying to break it all down. "And a bunch of other stuff..."

A variety of local trail notices and updates have caused the need to clarify the current situation for this summer season. Trails in Fernie are extensive, cherished and a critical part of what Fernie is well known for. Though 2019 will experience a few interruptions most trails are accessible to mountain bike, walk and hike! Continue below for current details and updates.

A fun weekly race/ride series for all mountain bikers.

Mark your calendars and start NOT training (just kidding). Go hard and compete for the bragging rights or just come and enjoy the fun with like minded bikers. These are typically more enduro style and the emphasis is on having fun. Prizes and titles up for grabs!

Have you been riding Swine Flu? Have you been troubled by mud just past the cattleguard and to the right?

Every year, I come up with different trails and loops to recommend to locals and visitors. You would think coming up with something new might be difficult, but it’s actually quite the opposite! We are so blessed in this Valley.
