Try your hand at Bocce with Special Olympic Medallist Wayne Gowanlock of Fernie BC! Test your skills and throw a few balls against our local Olympian, take a photo with Wayne and all his medals, or play a quick game with friends!

Afterwards Wayne will be available at the Fernie Museum tent to take a photo and sign his autograph for a donation to the Elk Valley Special Olympics.

Learn about Victorian and Edwardian fashion from the “unmentionables” on up with the help of a local historian (and her lovely assistant)!

Covering corsets, petticoats, gloves, shoes, hatpins, and everything in between, this is a window into the Victorian world through what they wore and how they wore it. Entrance is FREE as part of the Chautauqua Festival.

The Fernie Chautauqua recreates the Dominion Chautauqua, held in Fernie from 1917 to 1935. Chautauqua was a travelling institution begun at Chautauqua Lake, NY with roots in Canadian Methodist Temperance rallies. Chautauquas carried education, inspiration and entertainment across North America and consisted of musical numbers, lectures, dramatic productions and magic or puppet shows.

Scarlett Butler is a new Canadian music duo comprised of Troy Kokol and Joni Delaurier. But ask anyone in the Canadian country music industry and they would be known better individually for crafting songs you have probably heard on the radio.

Shelley Lynch grew up in a small town in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by music from a young age. Fifth of 6 children, raised at a Drive-In Theatre, a family business with parents always encouraging her to ‘Dream Big’. She started playing guitar with her older sisters at the young age of 10 and wrote her first song at 12.

The 7th Annual Fernie Chautauqua is a celebration of culture, heritage and community. This year's event is centered around the Fernie Museum's new exhibit, 'Women of Michel,' an art installation by four women who were born in the former nearby Mining community.
