Organized by The Rotary Club of Fernie and Culinary Advisor, chef Barrie Elliott from Fernie Catering Co., Feast for a Cause is all about celebrating Fernie’s food scene and our community’s spirit of giving back.

Fernie, BC – Get ready for a big food event with heart! The Rotary Club of Fernie is excited to announce Feast for a Cause, happening on May 4, 2024, at the Fernie Community Centre.

Organized by The Rotary Club of Fernie and Culinary Advisor, chef Barrie Elliott from Fernie Catering Co., Feast for a Cause is all about celebrating Fernie’s food scene and our community’s spirit of giving back.

Barrie Elliot was one of the first friends I made in Fernie. Flo Barrett had introduced us and I was instantly obsessed with my new pal. Being an incredibly talented and hardworking chef, Barrie casually mentions she WON Chopped Canada. I promptly waddled home (I was 26 weeks pregnant) and immediately binged watched the entire season. Wise beyond her experience, she’s a successful chef, mother, partner, boss, friend, and business person.

Cooking intuitively from your pantry, fridge and freezer can help you to create cost effective dishes that will impress your family and friends. By cleverly using your kitchen finds, you’ll put a flavoursome dinner on the table any day of the week. I encourage ingredient swaps in these two recipes. Yam for squash, sausage for spicy salami etc.
