On October 16, 2019 the Fernie Chamber of Commerce announced the finalists for the 2019 Fernie Business Excellence Awards. Each nominee was asked to complete an award application which was judged by an independent panel of judges from outside the Fernie area. The winners will be announced at the Awards Gala, which will be held Friday, October 25 at the Best Western Plus Fernie Mountain Lodge starting at 6:30pm. Limited tickets are vailable for the Awards Gala, so get in touch with the Fernie Chamber of Commerce to purchase yours.

Of all the committees in the City of Fernie government, none touches each and every citizen like the OCPIC (Official Community Plan Implementation Committee). This committee collects past citizen surveys, current citizen surveys, Stats Canada information, then combines this information with the stated desires of Fernie residents to create the report.

Happy Hounds/No Whine K9 Dog Walking
Tamara Egan and Zac Barret had both lived and worked in Fernie for many years in the service industry when they decided it was time for a change. Having two dogs of their own, they "barked" at the chance to start their own dog walking company and began No Whine K9 Dog Walking. After running this business successfully for a year, they decided to expand by purchasing Happy Hounds Adventures for Dogs.
