Open Studio Time has moved online!

For all your virtual creative connection needs, we are hosting open studio via zoom on Wednesday nights from 7-9pm.

As part of #soloartstreak, this is a great time for you to connect with other creatives, show what you've been working on, chat with each other, or just sit in silence while you draw/paint/knit/underwater basket weave!

Avalanche Canada will issue its final forecast for the season on March 28, which is about a month earlier than normal. The final three-day forecast will remain in effect until March 30.

Avalanche Canada’s forecasts rely primarily on data from a network of avalanche professionals across western Canada. The early closure of backcountry operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic has cut off much of that data stream, so the warning service is no longer receiving enough information to issue accurate forecasts.

In response to COVID-19, Columbia Basin Trust is postponing the public engagement process to renew its strategic plan, including community meetings scheduled this spring and the two regional Symposia this fall.

To help keep the amazing, responsible and self-isolating community safe, Fernie Brewing Company is now offering a new packaged product + merch pickup service, from outside their Storefront. It's FBC's way to FTC (flatten the curve).

The message this week has been clearly delivered by both federal and provincial health officials: the time for social distancing is now. As a result, the March RDEK public hearings and community meetings have been postponed and a new approach is being planned for the April Board Meetings.

A year ago this month I lost my best friend, Fezzik the Dog. Fernie is a dog town. Most people understand what losing a pet means to us humans.

There is nothing more rewarding than watching your children thrive on the mountain. Seeing their genuine enjoyment of snow, skiing and shredding. To watch them fall in love with exactly what you love: Fernie powder.

Regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), BC is unable to screen all symptomatic patients or potential exposures. As per provincial recommendations, IF you have been out of the country (including the United States) in the past 2 weeks, you are advised to self-quarantine at home.
