Khaled, syrian refugee stows away on a freighter to Helsinki. Meanwhile, Wikström is a traveling salesman who wins big at a poker table and buys himself a restaurant with the proceeds. When the authorities turn down his application for asylum, Khaled is forced underground and Wikström finds him sleeping in the yard behind his restaurant. He offers him a job and a roof over his head and, for a while, they form a utopian union with the restaurant's waitress, the chef and his dog.

Big Little Lions is the ferocious songwriting duo of Helen Austin and Paul Otten. Both successful singer/songwriters in their own right, they met while both on a conference songwriting member success panel and then a couple of years later started the band from afar, with Helen based on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada and Paul in Cincinnati, OH.

Join the Arts Station from 3 - 5pm for family lantern crafting session.

Totally free, all materials provided, just drop in. Lead by Rachel Butterworth. Lanterns can be taken home afterwards. Suitable for ages 3+, families must stay with their children. Then, get the whole family and join us on the deck to hold your lanterns and sing songs with Rachel.

5:30pm on the deck at the Arts Station. Rachel to lead the signing with a crew of singers and music! Traditional and modern holidays songs. All ages welcome.

This Christmas, the Arts Station is brings an encore screening of the Royal Ballet’s festival favourite, The Nutcracker by Peter Wright, direct from the Royal Opera House, London.

This beautiful ballet enthrals with snowflakes, the land of sweets and sensational dancing. A wonderful night out for all the family, we encourage children to come dressed as their own fairy prince/ss, ballet dancer, evil magician, magical toy or mouse! Magical wands, sweets and toys all welcome too!

Fernie favourite, The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra are a collection of musicians, linked by common sonic journeys and familial ties. It doesn’t matter much how they got here, but rather that they are traveling with each other. Now they are here in the room with you, the way music in the folk tradition always is, to bring people together; to share real flesh, blood and feeling.

Enjoy and purchase wreaths designed and decorated by artists and non-artists from all corners of Fernie. Following a call for entry, artists, businesses and crafty individuals have created their own wreaths and donated them to our show.

Each wreath will be sold via silent auction throughout the exhibition and all proceeds will go towards the Arts Station Art Student bursary. This bursary is awarded annually to a graduating high school student to support them in continuing their education at art schools.
