Fernie Needs Your Help to Make it to the Top 3 in the Mackenzie Top Peak contest

Fernie has made it to the Top 10 finalists in the Mackenzie Top Peak Contest.  Now they need your vote to get them to the top 3 in hopes of being crowned Canada's Most Invested Ski Community.

This year Fernie’s 3 ski clubs joined forces when entering the contest, showing Fernie’s true community spirit.  The Fernie Alpine Ski Team (FAST), the Fernie Freestyle Club and the Fernie Nordic Society rallied their members to complete social media challenges and get votes earning them a spot in the top 10.

Fernie Ski & Board Film Fest

This is the unofficial launch to the snow season as skiers and boarders gather to celebrate the coming snow season!

Three feature films will be presented on a large format screen with a professional image and dolby sound.

Saturday, November 12 – Fernie Community Centre
6:30 PM - Blank Collective – Feel Real
8:00PM – Teton Gravity Research – Magic Hour
9:30PM – Red Bull – Fleeting Time

Everyone attending will receive a 2 for 1 lift ticket voucher to Fernie Alpine Resort!

Fernie’s snowy winter season kicks off with the annual Fernie Alpine Ski Team Ski Swap!

Come on Friday November 4th between 6-8pm to drop off your Gear. Each item is $2 to consign. You will receive 75% of the purchase price and 25% goes to FAST. SWAP is Saturday November 5th from 9am-3pm. Get yourself set up for the upcoming season!

Fernie's FAST Growing Alpine Presence

Growing up in Edmonton, AB, I never really had the terrain around me to become a world class skier, that and the fact that I probably only skied a handful of times until I moved to Banff at age 22. However, being a self proclaimed sports nerd one might have guessed I am a huge ski racing fan. Ski racing holds a special place in my heart as I spent seven years working at Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA), which is the governing organization for the Canadian National Ski Team and ski racing throughout Canada.
