Obediah is a producer of mind-altering bass music. She is known for her ability to step outside of the comfort zone of ordinary genres and into the twilight zone of the surreal, mystifying and the absolutely strange. She has been making huge strides in her talent and has carved out a distinct and unique sound that can only be described with what one would call the "bass face." She specializes in dark soundscapes, deep, heavy bass and experimental sound design.

SHINY THINGS come from dirty places: rolling in rave dust since childhood, the colourful vibes awoken during pre-pubescent trips in the desert have transmuted into some of the future weird of today. From the interior groves of the west coast, this one’s a contributor; when not on stage you’ll find him on the floor, with glistening wits and moves for days. Selections all with good taste, these hyphy but paced, futuristic but deep rooted psychedelic sounds are delightfully hype at all hours.

Cost: $5 before midnight - $7 afterwards.

Destruction and melody, acid wit and bruising vocals-this is the Pack A.D. Singer/guitarist Becky Black and drummer Maya Miller have made a sound so gigantic, so fierce and raw and empowering, that it's easy to forget there are just two people behind this brilliant, carefully constructed havoc. Shredding and pounding their way through every song, the Pack A.D. swallows you whole inside their fearless Franken-blend of heavy psychpop/garage-rock.

With a thunderous sound, Heavy Airship descends on the Kootenay region of British Columbia like a storm coming in from the Misty Mountain. In just a short time the Nelson-based Led Zeppelin tribute has gained a faithful following in the area and has shared the stage with the likes of Dr. Hook and the legendary AC/DC tribute act BC/DC.

This is music. The true power of it. It morphs beyond its simple wavy existence and becomes real and tactile. Something to cling to.

This new series is a British-American mini-series that gives the overall impression that it has been made on the cheap.

With a variety of entertainment opportunities, we thought it only fair to break up the categories this year especially with the growing popularity of jam nights, big bands, trios and singer/songwriters. Here are Fernie's best live music venues in 2017.
