Let’s all stop what we are doing, step outside (if not already there) and look around. Take a deep breath, inhaling the magnificent fresh air this mountain town provides. Relish in where we are, and count our blessings. We are here, in Fernie. Five minutes from solitude in any direction.
There has been a palpable change in the air throughout 2018, taking place within the hearts of us all. A metamorphosis, a realization, a process that has needed to happen to allow an awakening of sorts.
As the holidays approach, our Editor tends to become a sentimental mess. Even more so now that she has children. Decades of memories are layered within her mind, creating a general feeling of longing for this time of year and all that it brings.

It’s so easy to become complacent. Moving through each day, satisfied with what we have, what we’re doing, where we’re going. It’s simple, comfortable and helps us to avoid disappointment, avoid failure. But, what if?
Our Editor reminds us to find ways to give back to my community or to those in need, working hard to be in the moment, enjoying what is happening right here, right now. As it truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
Our Editor doesn't find time, she makes time. Because her soul yearns for it. The time to herself, deep into nature, far from all things busy and loud and demanding. Time to feel connected. To feel alive.
