Join for an after school club exploring the elements of art. Together you will explore line, shape, colour, value and texture using a variety of mediums. Projects will be made using paint, markers, pencils, ink, clay and paper. Each week we will learn about a different element of visual art and use your tools to create a piece of take home artwork.

The Abstract Lion Visual Art Club is a place of positivity, respect and support in each other’s unique artistic talents. Let’s have some fun!

Level: Any level of talent, beginners welcome. Interest in art recommended.

Join Denise Baughan for a fun evening of theatre games. Great for all begginers, budding actors, experienced actors or if you just wanta fun night out with friends or to make some new ones.

Cultural Saturdays offers different cultural activities each week such as dance, theatre, pottery, sewing, concerts and more. Try something new or return to an old favourite there something for everyone. Adults program is 19+ and varies in each week in time and cost.

Have you been wanting to try your hand at the potter's wheel? Are looking to hone your skills? With a max of 5 students, this two day class provides you with ample opportunity to practice your throwing skills. Ideal for beginners or those with some experience, we will go through the basics of throwing basic vessels and trimming pottery while trouble shooting any individual challenges that may arise. Clay purchase is required for non-guild members while members may use their own.

Liza Gareau Tosh has been working as an artist for over 25 years. Originally from Saskatchewan, Liza first discovered Fernie in the late 1990s, has lived in Fernie transiently since 2004, and took up permanent residence in 2012. Liza, who dabbles in both studio work and plein air, gravitates to acrylic and watercolour through painting and drawing. Her work is largely representational but never predictable.

Joey Kosolofski’s first solo show, entitled “Searching for a ground”, includes a collection of works from the past four years of his mountain living. Joey creates a balance between his past love of abstract and urban art, with a developing style that incorporates the natural beauty of vibrant mountain landscapes and scenery. This show features some of his previous abstract works along with his recent thought-provoking interpretation of some iconic views from the valley.
