On International Women's Day residents of Fernie will walk in solidarity with survivors of domestic and sexualized violence from the Arts Station to the Courthouse and back in Fernie, BC. They will follow up with refreshments and a performance by the Hark Raving Sirens at the Arts Station.

In 1979 the Fernie Women's Resource Centre began supporting women in the Elk Valley. Join us at the Fernie Women's Resource Centre on International Women's Day for an open house celebrating the 40 years of empowerment.

You can also join the Fernie Women's Resource Centre staff in creating signs and posters for the Fernie Women's Resource Centre's Solidarity March!

Ouch. Raising two girls often petrifies our Editor. She wants so much for them to be happy and confident with who they are, but she knows how difficult the journey can be. 

Five large-scale projects will be significantly improving ecosystem health in the Columbia Basin, bringing areas closer to their natural states and improving habitat for many species. The projects are being initiated and supported through Columbia Basin Trust’s (the Trust) Ecosystem Enhancement Program.

A chill evening of fun, friendship, laughter, and yoga at Essential Yoga Studio in Fernie, BC.

This is a yoga session for every body, every level, to come as you are and be present in yourself. Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in, and a bottle of water. This session is free; we just ask that you RSVP either by indicating that you are 'going', or by sending us a private facebook message so we can provide enough room and instruction for everyone.

If you’ve been reading child development literature you know that play is essential for optimal human growth. Sometimes we forget, however, that teenagers also want and need to play. In fact, play is beneficial at every age, and adults have a lot to gain from it whether they are parents or not.

Let's explore “A Snowy Day”(by Ezra Keats) outside in the Fernie Library garden. An interactive story experience for babies, preschoolers and their families.

Please dress to be outdoors! Hot chocolate provided after our storywalk. Please meet in the library garden at 11:15am and 2pm.
