Ho Ho Ho! You’ve been cordially invited to the Inaugural Nakatomi Plaza Spectacular!

Taking place on the 13th of December at 9pm, the Vogue Theatre will be presenting a special holiday screening of DIE HARD.

Tickets are $10 dollars at the door and there will be a concession full of tasty beverages and snacks! A portion of the proceeds will go to Angel Flight, a fully volunteer run organization that provides free air transportation to people in the East Kootenays that have medical appointments in Kelowna.

The annual election of RDEK Chair and Vice Chair was held at the Regional District of East Kootenay this morning and Electoral Area C Director Rob Gay will continue on as Chair for 2020.

This will be the Electoral Area C Director’s ninth term as RDEK Chair. He has served on the Board since 2005. “I’d like to thank my fellow Directors for their ongoing support. It is an honour to serve as Chair of this organization and I look forward to another rewarding year,” says Gay.

Wild Child Sewing came about from Leah's personal need for clothing for her daughter that was unique, of great quality, and a reflection of her lifestyle here in Fernie. She wanted clothing that was going to fit her and last her longer than the clothing Leah was finding in department stores or online.

Over 100 people attended four open houses in November to offer feedback to inform an updated Koocanusa Recreation Strategy, which will be developed over the next few months with the goal of enhancing sustainable and responsible recreation on Crown lands.

The holidays are around the corner and that means it's time for Sparwood to again show its amazing generosity by filling all their emergency vehicles with donations for the Food Bank and Toys for Tots!

Listen for their sirens and look for their  lights as your local emergency responders and friends go door-to-door to collect your donations. Non-perishable food, new unwrapped toys, cash, warm clothes and more will be accepted, and tax receipts will be issued for cash donations over $20.
