To help better inform our residents on upcoming Council meeting items, the City of Fernie has created “Council Agenda at a Glance.”

Here are the details on the upcoming meetings on December 10, 2018 at City Hall. Full agendas are available here with further information.

The City of Fernie announced November 28, 2019 that they will be submitting a grant funding application to the Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure (CCRI) and Rural Northern Communities Program funding streas for a Multi-Purpose Community Centre. Both grants are offered through the Province of British Columbia and the Federal Government of Canada.

The City of Fernie has received notice from our Contractor that the roof truss repairs have been expedited and the Fernie Memorial Arena will re-open for Saturday, December 1st, 2018 for the previously scheduled Ghostriders’ home game.

More than just any other industry, tourism requires collaboration and partnering locally with residents, businesses, user groups and organisations, as well as with regional and provincial organisations. Done right, tourism can bring many benefits to communities; doing it right requires proactive planning and ongoing governance for community success.

This month, Fernie will vote and we’d like to introduce the candidates.
