It is hard to walk around our community for even a brief amount of time and not be aware that there are community builders all around us, leaning in and supporting whatever they are passionate about.

This event is hosted by the City of Fernie, East Kootenay Invasive Species Council, West Fork Resource Management and the Elk River Alliance.

At the event, you will be hand-pulling invasive plant species and reseeding the banks of the Elk River with native grass. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, as well as volunteer appreciation gifts.

With the recent warm temperatures, the City of Fernie is experiencing higher than normal levels of water demand and are thus asking residents to conserve water by adhering to the following watering restrictions until further notice:

We have done our blue budget process so far this year several times with school-age children, and if that is any indication of the future, I can assure you on our horizon is a group of kids that understand sustainable decisions.

Mr. Norm McInnis has given notice that he is resigning from his position as Chief Administrative Officer with the City of Fernie effective June 28, 2019.

The RDEK has just released a second survey as part of its Solid Waste Management Plan Review, and is now encouraging the public to participate.

It is a good time to be a woman in politics right now, there are some fierce women finding their pace and authenticity in an environment that quite frankly can be brutally toxic.

The City of Fernie invites the community to join for a celebration of Canada’s birthday on July 1 from 12pm-9pm at the Fernie Aquatic Centre Grounds. The event will include a full lineup of live music, children’s activities, the Mountain Market, free swimming at the pool from 1pm-3pm, and much more.
