Meet author Terry Nelson at Gearhub and pick up a copy of the essential Fernie Hiking guide!

Terry's book is presented as a companion piece for keen and amateur hikers who love the outdoors. The Natural Plant Compendium features a (non-exhaustive) list of the flora that you may spot on your hikes.

Terry will be signing and selling books and chatting about all things trail-related in the Fernie Area. Terry is a keen hiker and mountain biker, and has been instrumental in building the Fernie trail network for over 30 years.

Home Ice: Reflections of a Reluctant Hockey Mom becomes available on Sept 4. Join in celebrating at Polar Peek Books! I know it's the first day of school and I promise not to keep you too long. Come help launch this book in Fernie style!

The Man Booker Prize is an annual award given to the best work of fiction in the British Commonwealth and Ireland. Alison Pick’s Far to Go is one of three Canadian books recently long-listed for the 2011 Booker, a great honour which was just the incentive I needed to pull it out of my towering to-be-read pile. I’m very glad I did. Pick’s story held me firm in its grip from the first sentence to the last, her characters as real to me as my next-door neighbours.
