Artists are almost always operating under the pressure of a deadline. As a breed we are adaptable, resilient, motivated and above all creative, which means we often wear a number of hats to make ends meet.

Shaw is an illustrator whose work aims to bring a bit of sunshine to magazines, advertising, books, and newspapers. He have been an illustrator for close to 10 years and over those 10 years he’s been lucky enough to have worked with many wonderful clients from all over the world, including Disney and The New York Times.

Are you a teen interested in entering the Banner Project but not quite sure how to go about it? This live Teen Banner Project Session is for you! Tara Higgins will walk you through the steps and help work around a theme.

They would really love to see teen artists have a presence at the Banner Project this year. The feedback I've gotten is that they many would love to submit a piece of art or photography but are pretty stymied and overwhelmed by the process. So, they've put this special Banner Project session together just for teens.

What this means for musicians is that you will look good on stream, but you won’t sound good. Until the big players decide that the audio quality of live streams is as important to the feed as the video and adjust the algorithm to compensate, we are unfortunately stuck with terrible-to-mediocre sound.

Alexandra is a multi-media artist focused on portraying the essence of Fernie’s natural spaces. She loves to depict movement and states of flux. The seasonal changes in Fernie provide a constant inspiration with every week more beautiful than the last, in its own unique way.

We can either ignore the world around us, or we can find ways to process and assimilate the influx in ways that allow us to keep moving forward. Luckily there is a group of people who are committed to helping us with the task: the artists.

Open Studio Time has moved online!

For all your virtual creative connection needs, we are hosting open studio via zoom on Wednesday nights from 7-9pm.

As part of #soloartstreak, this is a great time for you to connect with other creatives, show what you've been working on, chat with each other, or just sit in silence while you draw/paint/knit/underwater basket weave!

As male in a small-town arts community, I’m an unlikely minority. At any given artists’ gathering I’m often one of few men, and I’m invariably surrounded by creative, talented, competent, hard-working, and knowledgeable women.
