I knew I could draw and paint from an early age. but I didn’t start painting seriously until nearing retirement from my regular job. My wife, Bev, bought me a Robert Bateman book for my birthday and I knew then that painting was something I would like to do. About the wildlife art I looked at, I said, “I can do that!”

This workshop is designed for complete beginners who are looking to start their journey into the world of pottery. Instructor Dejana will teach the basics of pottery for handbuilding including preparing clay, tools & uses, pottery process, creating your first pieces and trimming them.

This workshop will take place via zoom. The first half will be watching and learning the basic processes. The second half will allow you to give it a go with a Clay Basics take home pack which includes required clay and tools. Dejana will be on hand to advise and answer your questions.

Make a delightful craft for someone special, in time for Mother’s Day.

There will be a curbside pack with materials and a fun tutorial on Zoom. Participants will need a valid Fernie Heritage Library card and a signed waiver. Ages 8-10. Maximum 8 participants.
