The Arts Station

The Fernie and District Arts Council has been awarded a Public Art Grant by the Columbia Basin Trust to add to the public art inventory of Fernie. The project will be to select and install a permanent mural in Fernie.

Join Sue Hanlon for a social evening of painting. Sue will guide you through a painting step by step for 2 hours. Beginners are most welcome! She will be supplying all of the materials and instruction. We’re putting the fun back into painting as we concentrate on the process on the way to a finished product!

This collection has evolved from a previous show of abstracts that were predominantly black on white. This time, colour dominates the abstract theme and is the inspiration for this exhibition.

Creativity plus experimentation work to inspire each piece. Many are peppered with a good bit of luck! Knowing when to toss or continue, to add more or not is key. Layering simple design to dramatic effect, with an eye for colour and balance all work together to create each compelling image.

Century 21 Mountain Lifestyles welcomes two new realtors and ET Hair Salon welcomes two new stylists, East Kootenay Hypnobirthing is now available to help preparing for your journey of parenthood and much more.

Each No School Friday, we will be offering funky arts based projects, with chilled out vibes! A new project each week, each with valuable creative learning outcomes.

The workshops are suitable for kids aged K-G6.Full and Half day options available: 9am-12pm and/or 1pm-4pm (lunchbreak supervised, bring a packed lunch - please note, we ask for a nut free environment)
Half day $28, full day $56 per child (sibling discount available)
All activities take place at the Arts Station. All arts supplies are provided.

Lindsay Dew holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design Unviersity, majoring in Fine Arts. Lindsay also attended Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

The Arts Station is hosting an all ages paint battle to raise money for the Out Of The Box Dumpster Project.

Three rounds of battles: Kids, Teens and Adults. Grab a drink, enjoy some tunes and vote for your favorite. (There will be a silent auction at the end of the event, proceeds will be donated to the Out Of The Box Dumpster Project.)
