In this two hour eco-friendly educational course, we will discuss the harmful effects of invasive plants while creating beautiful paintings using the pigments extracted from them.
Participants will learn best practices for harvesting noxious weeds along with a simple step-by-step process of how to make plant-based watercolour paints. All materials will be provided, participants are welcome to bring their own if desired.

The Arts Station is a well-known and iconic landmark in downtown Fernie. Originally as a functioning train station, it was the hub of life in Fernie. Today in its second life it has become a hub for arts and culture.
The Street Art workshop is an introduction to tagging and stencilling. You will learn the history of graffiti, discuss the legality and ethnical ways of this art form. You will create a tag for yourself, and learn how to make unique stencils that we will be using outside of the classroom.
We will not being using spray paint, but rather spray chalk to create a similar effect.
