Whenever I’m asked what made me pursue painting, what my inspiration was on a particular piece, or how I decide what I’m going to paint next, I usually answer with a few details about a specific colour palette that intrigued me, a specific quality of light that challenged me, or a specific somber toned, afroed artist painting happy trees on PBS that motivated me. But the simpler truth is that I like art. I think it’s that base enjoyment that got me started painting and what keeps me going. From the highs of a successful show to the lows of a struggling economy, painting never gets dull.

Local artist Morgan Dunnet is this month's feature artist.

While I was getting my weekly latte and muffin, the owner of the coffee shop mentioned that she was concerned with young adults being offered credit cards with high limits and that they did not yet have the life experience to use them properly.

Credit cards are a good way to establish a credit history which is needed when applying for loans or mortgages and they are convenient when travelling, that is all!

I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June.
~ L. M. Montgomery

If you’ve read Anne of Green Gables, this quote from the famous Canadian author doesn’t surprise you. The kindred spirits of this famous series often rejoice at summer’s fresh beginnings, holding hands as they run through the landscape of the famed Prince Edward Island.
