We hope you left space in your luggage for some quality and stylish fashion, because you will indeed come across a multitude of items you fancy while here.

Fernie’s downtown is lined with boutique sports and clothing stores, each with its own sense and style of apparel. Let’s start with the sporting options.

The Guide’s Hut is known for its technical, quality clothing that fit well with mountain living and exploration. Expect to find Norrona, Rossignol, the North Face and Arc’teryx ware, alongside Arc’teryx, Hoka, Altra, and Blundstone running and casual shoes.

Straightline is Fernie’s bike hub, carrying Norco, Giant, Ibis, Transition and Santa Cruz. Additionally, they have high-end bike clothing such as Dharco, 7mesh, Pearl Izumi and more.

Ski Base is also the Bike Base, changing gears when the seasons change, and carrying a lot of fashionable items to wear year-round. You’ll find impressive brands like Prana, Yeti, Mountain Hardwear, Smartwool, Maloja and Peppermint.

Edge of the World is known for its cool kicks and trendy attire. You’ll find a variety of Vans shoes and clothing on offer, the latest in Burton products, and popular lines like Ten Tree, Volcom, Picture, Dickies, and more.

Sports Alpine Boutique is Fernie Alpine Resort’s shop that carries everything you need to get through the season. Summertime means the store is full of products for biking and hiking, as well as casual wear for every day. Expect to find Dakine, Helly Hanson, Scott and their own branded items.

When it comes to fashion over function, there are several stores to choose from!

Coal Town Goods is known for choosing quality apparel and accessories, with an emphasis on Canadian made makers and artists. From the most beautiful dresses to the cutest pair of socks, stunning earrings to the funniest line of cards, you could spend hours perusing Coal Town.

Freyja Kootenay Boutique has been a go-to place to find that special outfit or dress for an upcoming event since it opened. They also have an abundance of clothing for every day, mountain casual as well as accessories.

Ghostrider Trading Co. is also a very popular stop for Fernie fashion. Not only do they have a wonderful array of shoes, including Birkenstocks, Reiker, Keens, and Glerups, they carry both men’s and women’s clothing, from stylish dress shirts to alluring skirts, jeans and active-wear.

As this is just a glimpse of Fernie’s fashion, we recommend checking out all the shops along 7th and 2nd Ave and also checking out the options for Fernie wear, including Board Stiff, IGS Value Drug Mart, Ghostrider Trading (in the back!), and Ski Base. There is also a variety of businesses that print their own clothing and gift items. Island Lake Lodge and Fernie Brewing Company are well-known for their fabulously appointed merchandise available in-house.

We hope you enjoy your time shopping in Fernie. While you are likely to go a tad over budget, remember that the memories attached to items purchased on a special trip are truly priceless.
