The Goat on Gorby Trail

Summer is officially here, the trails are clear of snow and more terrain and access to outdoor spaces is now available to us! This month, we challenge you to find the Goat donation bin located at the beginning of Old Goat, one of Fernie’s oldest and most cherished mountain bike trails. Find the box this July and remember to head to Edge of the World to get your sticker!
2. The Goat on Gorby Trail
Park at the Gorby Bridge parking lot just past Mount Fernie Provincial Park. Hike, bike or run over the Gorby Bridge and veer left onto Gorby Trail. Stay on Gorby Trail for about one km, until you reach the goat located at the Old Goat trailhead. If you want an interesting addition to this adventure continue along Gorby until you reach the next trail on the left which will lead to an amazing giant cedar tree!
These are all two-way trails so make sure you make lots of noise to let other trail users and wildlife know you are coming. Always follow the rules of the trail, wear proper safety attire and make sure your bike is in good working order. Trail maps are available for free on the Trailforks app, with additional descriptions and directions to trailheads. Download it before you go. Remember these trails are built and maintained by a volunteer organization so please feel free to leave a donation in one of the custom FTA donation boxes. And don’t forget to have fun!
To enter the grand prize draw for completing all four challenges email proof of completion to wesrobinsonshaw@ icloud.com or johnnypshaw@hotmail. com.
