Trending right across Canada and on the lips of most sun-seekers this summer. Here are some fresh ideas for a cold one, if you can break from the norm.
Beergarita: The Poor-Man’s Margarita. Combine 2 bottles of light beer, 8 oz of tequila and 1 can of limeade into a pitcher, stir gently. Rim your glasses with lime and salt, pour and garnish with a lime wedge. Charming!
Snakebite: Mix half a beer with half a dry cider.
Saskatchewan Sunrise: Dark beer and orange juice.
Kickstart: Beer with a shot of coffee liqueur.
Bikini Remover: Combine beer, lemon juice and a shot of gin, with a dash of grenadine.
Classic Shandy (short for shandygaff - an old English tradition dating back to the 17th century): Fill mug with beer, top off with Mike’s Hard Lemonade or limeade or gingerale. Ice optional.
Broadway: Mixing beer with cola is popular in Japan.
Island Beer: Beer with a shot of melon liqueur. Paper umbrellas optional.
