Island Lake Opening for the Summer

Island Lake is opening its doors this June 12th, and it couldn't come any sooner. This beautiful resort nestled in the Lizard Range might predominantly be known for its catskiing, but we would argue that its summer offerings are just as spectacular. From fine dining with unparallelled views, to hiking unique trails through the magestic Old Growth Forest. From a relaxing spa treatment in the full service spa, to lunch on the patio after an exhilarating mountain bike ride. Island Lake offers something for everyone, and fortunately it s doors are open for three months during these beautiful months in Fernie giving us ample time to explore!

Island Lake just announced its new summer menus! We are excited to try the Salmon Tacos, and are happy to see the Smoked Beet Rueben back on the lunch menu. When it comes to dinner, the Proscuitto wrapped Free Range Chicken is a favourite and many new items have caught our eye. Check it out here. Island Lake is also hosting its Date Night Mondays and Wine Tasting Wednesdays again this year!

Another exciting piece of news Island Lake recently shared is its new Take A Hike Bavarian Pilsner, a custom collaborative beer brewed by Fernie Brewing Co and label designed by Clawhammer Press.

And the ever popular Lazy Lizard mountain bike trail makes it easier to access the lodge by bike than ever. Beginning at the lower parking lot and taking riders right to Island Lake this trail is for all levels and is a busy and popular summer choice in Fernie.
