100 Women Who Care Fernie Funds Two Local Organizations

100 Women Who Care Fernie celebrated their 7th Giving Event on November 2nd by raising $10,000 and then awarding it to two remarkable local organizations, Angel Flight East Kootenay and UPLIFT Community Support Association who each received $5,000 to further their vital work in Fernie and surrounding areas.
As part of their ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the Elk Valley, members of 100 Women Who Care Fernie gathered for their second 2023 Giving Event with just one goal in mind, to raise funds to support causes close to their hearts. Through a member nomination and voting process, two local organizations are selected to share all funds raised.
Since the inaugural December 2020 Giving Event, members of 100WWCFernie have contributed almost $70,000 and supported 15 Elk Valley organizations, demonstrating the powerful impact that collective giving can have on local grassroots organizations.
“We are incredibly grateful to 100 Women Who Care Fernie for their ongoing support. This generous contribution will allow us to continue to support individuals and their families and provide inclusive programming to fit the needs of the children and youth in the communities of the Elk Valley.” said Brenna Sullivan, Co-founder, UPLIFT Community Support Association
This sold-out event was made extra special through the support of local businesses SOAR Studios, Fernie Catering Co., Lush Kootenay, Patti’s Party Tent Rentals, Stemhouse Floral Studio and Gabbi Escobar Film & Digital Photography.
