Fernie School-Aged Care
Fernie School-Aged Care is happy to announce that they have a new manager. Brittany Dodd holds her ECE from Mount Royal University and has spent the last six years working in the childcare field in both Calgary and Vancouver. Brittany and owner and current manager Mandy will be working alongside each other this fall to ensure the after school club and vacation care program continue to run with the same consistent high standard that it has known for these past two years. Along with the new soccer field and playground being completed at Max Turyk, the 2013-14 school year is set to be full of new and exciting times!

Fernie Tears and Gears Mountain Duathlon
This September the Fernie Tears & Gears Mountain Duathlon, a non-profit community focused organization is hosting its fourth annual mountain running and biking event. With both the classic and longer enduro lengths, this event can be challenged either solo or on a team. And the popular speed traps on both the run and bike legs provide an additional opportunity for those looking for the title for speediest ascent or descent.

New this year, the Fernie Tears & Gears is including $1000 cash purse amongst its prizes, and the after dinner, awards and celebrations will be hosted at the Fernie Hotel in an outdoor BBQ with music, refreshment gardens and more! Visit for further details.
