October 2014 New Business

Fernie BMX Racing Club
Call for volunteers: Fernie BMX racing club.

BMX racing is an amazingly family friendly sport. From three-year-olds on strider bikes to the pros at the Olympics, with moms and dads (on larger wheels) in between. There really is no other way to get the whole family into competitive cycling.

BMX racing began back in the 70s, when kids in California started emulating their motocross heros. It was huge in the 80s and finally got into the Olympics in 2008.

A few Fernie BMX fans have decided it’s time to bring BMX racing to town. They are currently preparing to start a club and raise funds to build a national standard track accessible to all abilities.

If you are interested in helping the club fundraise, helping out at events, or being on the race team, go to facebook.com/fernieBMXracing to find out more.
